		<description>I think you&#039;re right, Beth, the best player on a bad (or at least unsuccessful) team holds a special place in the hearts of fans. For me, that&#039;s Lance Berkman on the crummy Astros. 

You could think Greinke on the Royals, Markakis (or Tejada, even) on the Orioles, Adrian Gonzalez on the Padres....</description>

		<description>Thanks for this post.  I have a bit of Nomar nostalgia.  He&#039;s played for three of my top 5 favorite teams.  If you guessed from that statement that I like to root for underdogs you&#039;d be right, but each underdog team seems to have at least one star player that softens the blow of losing season after losing season by giving the fans something spectacular to watch.  Nomar was something special.</description>
